February is filled with exciting activities, special events, and winter fun! Below is an overview of what’s happening this month, including our much‑anticipated Carnival Week. Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community.
Important Dates & Events
Week of February 1–7
- Starting February 6th – Para equipment at the school for gym classes, (Multisport Wheelchairs, Hockey Sledges with wheels, and a Floor Curling set)
- Registration for Immersion Grade 1 or Late Immersion – All Grade K and Grade 5 parents/guardians will need to complete this registration for English or Immersion by Feb 6th – Please reach out to the school if you require any other information, form is linked here. Please complete as soon as possible and indicate your preference for your child to enter French Immersion or stay in the English Program. *French Immersion is not offered at this school.
Week of February 15–21
- Feb 16 – Holiday (No School)
- Feb 17 – Welcome to Kindergarten Day – 2:30 p.m. For new to K students and a parent/guardian
- Feb 18 – REMI the Magician, 10:30 a.m. for the whole school
- Feb 20 – Staff Appreciation Day Home and School supported lunch for all staff
Carnival Week – February 23–27
We’re gearing up for a fantastic week of school spirit, themed days, and winter fun!
Feb 23 – Crazy Hair / Hat Day
Come with your most creative hairstyle or favourite hat.
Feb 24 – School Pride Day (Yellow & Blue)
- Wear school colours
- Sledding by class (please dress appropriately for outside and maybe an extra pair of socks and pants)
Feb 25 – Pink Shirt Day
- Wear your pink shirt day – to support bullying awareness day
- Snowshoe Day by class (please dress appropriately for outside and maybe an extra pair of socks and pants)
- Maple Syrup in the Snow
Feb 26 – PJ Day
- Fruit Skewers Snack for whole school
Feb 27 – Twin Day
- Dress alike with a friend or group
- Multi‑Age Morning Event

A big thank‑you to Riverview High School for building new outdoor benches for the gazebo and for the upcoming forest classroom. These additions will greatly benefit outdoor learning and student comfort.
