Hello Mountain View Families,

Welcome to November! We have lots of exciting events and activities happening this month, and we’re looking forward to sharing them with you.

First, a quick reminder about our Lost and Found—it’s overflowing! We’ve included some pictures of the items in hopes that you might recognize something. If you do, please let us know so we can reunite these belongings with their owners.

Important Dates to Remember

November 5–7 – Honouring Our Veterans
Students will learn about the symbols of Remembrance and take part in classroom activities. If someone in your family has served, we’d love to include them in our recognition. Please share a photo and a short note about their service with your child’s teacher.

No School for Students:

  • November 10
  • November 11 – Remembrance Day
  • November 21

November 13 – Picture Retake & Grade 5 Grad Photo Day
If you’d like retakes, please let your child’s teacher know.

Looking Ahead to December

December 3 – Report Cards go home
December 4 (afternoon) & December 5 (morning) – Parent/Teacher Interviews & Scholastic Book Fair

🎉 The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!
We’re thrilled to welcome the Scholastic Book Fair to Mountain View School! Students will visit the fair during the day on December 4, and families can shop during Parent/Teacher interviews. It’s a great chance to pick up some early holiday gifts and encourage a love of reading.

Here’s what makes this event extra special:

  • A portion of all sales will go directly toward purchasing new books for our library and classrooms.
  • Teachers will have a Wish List of books available if your family would like to donate a book to a classroom.

Please note:

  • Orders can only be placed in person at the school.
  • Debit and credit will be accepted.
  • Students may bring funds on December 4 to shop during the day.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Mountain View community and for helping our students arrive at school by 8:00 AM. Being on time sets them up for a successful day of learning and connection. If you arrive late, please remember to bring your child into the office to sign them in. Your support makes a big difference in creating a positive and engaging environment for our students.

If you have any questions, please reach out—we’re always happy to help.

Warm regards,
Cathi Poplar
Principal, Mountain View School
