Hello Mountain View Families,
Welcome to October! As the cooler weather arrives, it’s a great time to start dressing in layers. We also recommend sending a labelled change of clothes (especially socks and pants) in a bag that can stay at school. This can be very helpful on days when outdoor play leads to a few wet puddles and muddy adventures!
📅 Important Dates to Remember
September 30
🧡 No School – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
October 1
📸 School Picture Day
We can’t wait to see all those wonderful smiles!
🏫 Home and School Meeting
6:00 p.m. at the school. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend.
October 12
🍂 Thanksgiving Day
No school today as families celebrate Thanksgiving together.
October 30
🎃 Multiage Halloween Day
Students will spend the morning learning and having fun together in K to 5 mixed-age groups through a variety of engaging activities that build community and connection.
We are also excited to welcome local author Tammy Lynn, who will be visiting Mountain View School to share her new book, When Everything Feels Like Too Much: A Fern the Fox Story, with our students.
Students are welcome to wear whatever brings them joy, whether that’s a costume, orange and black clothing, or their regular school clothes. Dressing up is completely optional.
If your child chooses to wear a costume, please remember:
No masks
No fake weapons
No inflatable costumes
Our goal is to make the day a celebration of comfort, creativity, kindness, and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher.
❤️ Thank You
Thank you for being such an important part of our Mountain View School community. As a staff, we truly appreciate the support families have shown by:
- Using SchoolMessenger to report student absences.
- Waiting at the designated parent pick-up area at the end of the day.
These simple actions help make our dismissal process smoother, safer, and more efficient for everyone.
We are grateful for your partnership and all you do to support our students.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Poplar
